Just a couple of weeks after welcoming their second child, James Van Der Beek and wife, Kimberly Brook, have revealed that they have named their son Joshua.
On Wednesday (March 28), the 30-year-old mom of two published her first blog for People magazine, dropping the baby name as she gave her readers a sneak peek into her life, writing, "Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of welcoming our son Joshua (you?ve heard his name here first!) into the family."
News of the new bundle of joy first came when the "Dawson's Creek" alum took to his Twitter page on March 13, tweeting, "Had my first son this morning... well, actually, my wife had him. I just caught him. Wow. Heart expanding way faster than my brain..."
According to Van Der Beek, he says parenting is more fun than work! In an interview with Us magazine in 2011, the actor explained, "You know what surprised me the most? I was prepared for it to be a lot of work, but if anybody would've told me how much fun it would be, I would not have believed them," he said. "People always say, 'It's the best thing you'll ever do,' but I always thought they meant 10 or 20 years down the road when you'd be like, 'I'm glad I had a kid.' But moment to moment, it's really the most fun I've ever had."
The proud Papa added that it's not always easy, but definitely worth it, saying, "Of course there are a lot of sleepless nights, but it just surprised me how much fun it all is. You can't really communicate that to someone who doesn't have a kid."
Van Der Beek and Brook wed in August of 2010, and you can catch the 35 year-old actor in his new ABC show, "Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23," when it premieres on April 11th.
