<P>It's not exactly <a href="/news/articles/1663946/kesha-new-album.jhtml">"balls-out irreverent rock and roll"</a> — quite the opposite, in fact — but with one 40-second snippet, Ke$ha is serving notice that her new album is most definitely going to be a departure.</P><P>On Wednesday (June 6), frequent Ke$h collaborator Dr. Luke gave fans <a href="http://soundcloud.com/drluke/snippet-super" target="_blank">a sneak peek</a> at a song from her long-in-the-works new album, an all-too-brief preview that features her cooing about a lover's prowess — "When you take my body to the stars/ I believe it/ Boy, this love is supernatural/ Can you feel it?" over a bed of shimmering synths and knotty bass that gradually builds to a twisting, rapidly contrasting electronic break.</P><P><iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="http://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F48805816&auto_play=false&show_artwork=true&color=ff7700"></iframe></P><P>It's the kind of high-gloss production she largely avoided on her breakthrough <a href="/news/articles/1629566/keha-partying-pop-genius-weve-all-been-waiting.jhtml"><i>Animal</i></a> album, and while we certainly can't figure out how the track fits in with her <i>other</i> collaborations (she's reportedly worked with everyone from <a href="/news/articles/1685827/kesha-flaming-lips-tattoo.jhtml">Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne</a> to Iggy Pop on the still-untitled new album), the new track certainly showcases her maturation. And thanks to Ke$h herself, at least we know what the new track is about: having sex with ghosts.</P><P>Yes, just hours after Dr. Luke leaked the snippet, Ke$ha took to her Twitter account to mock-chastise her producer, <a href="https://twitter.com/keshasuxx/status/210428157554196480" target="_blank">writing</a>: "You leaked my song about me having sexy time with a ghost, @thedoctorluke," she wrote. "Now everyone knows I get it on with ghosts!"</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid: 652875" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Somehow, that doesn't surprise us. There's still no firm release date for Ke$ha's new album, which she began working on in February. But, from the sound of one snippet, at least, it sounds like things are progressing quickly. Well, <i>you</i> did, of course.</P><P>In July, <a href="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2007/07/10/casting-call-harry-potter-and-the-half-blood-prince/">we asked you who you thought should be cast</a> in the key roles for the blockbuster series' sixth installment, and many of you rightly pegged the Oscar winner as the once-and-future Slytherin head.</P><P></p><div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;"><embed src="/player/embed/mtv/news/" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="CONFIG_URL=/player/embed/mtv/news/configuration.jhtml?id=1569979&allowFullScreen=true" allowscriptaccess="never" base="." height="259" width="290"></embed></div><p></P><P>Just imagine who you'll zero in on next.</P><P>Now that the final novel, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," has been out for almost two months, we wanted to know who you think should be cast for the remaining key roles. Sporting a fang earring and a pair of dragon boots, Harry thinks Bill looks "cool," adding that he wouldn't be out of place at a Muggle rock concert. Savaged by Fenrir Greyback at the end of "Half-Blood Prince," his face is terribly scarred. Married to the beautiful Fleur Delacour.</P><P><b>We Say</b>: Who doesn't want a brother like Bill Weasley? Smart enough to be a curse breaker for Gringotts Bank, brave enough to fight werewolves, resourceful and true enough to be the friend of goblins, cool enough to marry Fleur Delacour. And, best of all, he doesn't ask questions. (How rad is that?) The best physical match of any would be actor Damian Lewis, who proved capable of embodying all those qualities as Dick Winters in "Band of Brothers." And he wouldn't even have to dye his hair.</P><P><b>Alternates</b>: After his many publicized troubles on "Star Wars" you'll probably never get Ewan McGregor near a big-budget franchise again. But this would be the role for him if he did. Alternately, we like "The Last King of Scotland" actor James McAvoy.</P><P><big><b>Bathilda Bagshot/ Gran Longbottom</b></big></P><P><b>Book Says</b>: Of Bathilda — celebrated author of "A History of Magic." Ancient. Thinning gray hair atop her stooped head. Of Augusta Longbottom — forceful woman described by her grandson, Neville, as wearing green robes, a fox-fur scarf and a stuffed vulture on top of her hat.</P><P><b>We Say</b>: It's entirely possible, if not downright likely, that both of these roles will be cut from the "Deathly Hallows" movie. Of the two, Bathilda seems to have the most probable shot at appearing, if only because Harry's trip to Godric's Hollow provides him with some clues as to the true identity of the blond-haired boy he sees stealing Gregorovitch's wand. But, in the interest of time, this information can come from somewhere else. We've grouped the old ladies together, however, because, if even one remains, we'd like to see that one played by Dame Judi Dench, a fierce talent who somehow hasn't yet found her way into the "Potter" series.</P><P><b>Alternate</b>: Brenda Fricker</P><P><big><b>Mundungus Fletcher</b></big></P><P><b>Book Says</b>: A no-good crook Dumbledore lets into the Order of the Phoenix to keep tabs on the criminal underworld. His eyes are bloodshot and baggy, his clothes tattered and torn. Very short. Never without his pipe, Dung smells of stale tobacco and alcohol. A coward as well as a thief, Dung flees at the site of You-Know-Who.</P><P><b>We Say</b>: A despicable ragamuffin more likely to be selling cauldrons than doing his duty (and, boy, does he have the record for most inappropriately timed disapparations or what?), we nevertheless always had a soft spot for Mundungus. He's the kind of guy we'd love to have over for a drink of Butterbeer, since we bet he has more stories than Walt Disney. You can tell that Mundungus has lived a full — if scandalous — life. Combine everything, and we can't stop thinking about Mick Jagger. Hey, if Keith Richards can be in "Pirates"...</P><P><b>Alternate</b>: Somehow we can't shake the idea that, as an alternative to Jagger's hard-won edge, Ricky Gervais would be a bit of inspired lunacy, more accurately able to portray Mundungus' obvious pathetic nature. We can see him now, simpering in the hallway of 12 Grimmauld Place as he's beaten by a house-elf.</P><P><big><b>Aberforth Dumbledore</b></big></P><P><b>Book Says</b>: Albus Dumbledore's brother and bartender at the Hog's Head tavern. Described in "Order of the Phoenix" as "a grumpy-looking old man with a great deal of long gray hair and a beard." Piercing blue eyes. A bit odd, he was once arrested for performing illegal charms on a goat.</P><P><b>We Say</b>: Count us among the many who don't like Michael Gambon's portrayal of the venerable headmaster in the last three "Potter" films. Ironically, of course, he'd be perfect for Albus' brother, Aberforth — a little bit angrier, more unforgiving and uncompromisingly pragmatic than his more celebrated sibling. But just because Gambon's off the table, that doesn't mean producers can't rectify their mistake with Aberforth. Give us an actor full of piss and vinegar, an actor with deep, blue eyes that speak of regret, hate and remorse in equal measure. Give us the man you should have given us for Dumbledore. Give us Peter O'Toole.</P><P><b>Alternates</b>: If it weren't impossible to see him as a disheveled wizard and <i>not</i> think of Gandalf the Grey, we'd suggest Ian McKellen for the role. As it is, of course, we can't. From toting fake guns to exposing herself onstage, pop icon's MDNA Tour has run into criticism at every turn.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/madonna/artist.jhtml">Madonna</a> can't catch a break. Pop music's queen again finds herself in a flood of bad press after fans at an intimate show at Paris' l'Olympia club <a href="/news/articles/1690643/madonna-fans-boo-paris-show.jhtml">booed and chanted "refund!"</a> when the music icon's performance ended after just 45 minutes. While this latest fiasco seems to be <a href="/news/articles/1690697/madonna-paris-show-mdna-tour.jhtml">rooted in misunderstanding</a> — "She has done a handful of club dates in the past and they were never more than 45 minutes," according to her rep — Madonna has run straight into controversy at every turn on her <i>MDNA</i> Tour.</P><P>Controversy is, of course, Madonna's longtime plaything, except this time around it isn't doing much to help her cause. She's always welcomed the odd bit of trouble as a means to inspire thought-provoking conversations about real issues. But this latest string of incidents has fallen on deaf ears, leaving even die-hard fans wondering if she's now simply going too far for the sake of going too far. Not even two months into the most extensive tour of her career, the headlines have been piling up, and despite the tour's financial success (it's <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/17/madonna-mdna_n_1680467.html" target="_blank">on track</a> to be one of the highest-grossing ever), they've rarely been kind.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Madonna Teases MDNA Tour" id="vid:759066" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Before the tour even kicked off, Madonna managed to stir negative feelings among Lady Gaga's notoriously devout fanbase when <a href="/news/articles/1685970/madonna-lady-gaga-mash-up.jhtml">rehearsal footage surfaced</a> of her singing a mash-up of "Express Yourself" with Gaga's "Born This Way," a song that has been criticized for having the same chord progression, melodic structure and thematic elements as "Express." But that's not all. Madonna finishes the medley with a refrain from her <i>Hard Candy</i> track "She's Not Me," a song about a lesser imitator making a play for what she has.</P><P>Gaga issued a measured response to Madonna during a June concert in New Zealand, but that hasn't stopped M from digging in her heels. Earlier this week, in a Brazilian TV interview, <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/07/24/madonna-lady-gaga-born-this-way-express-yourself-im-glad-that-i-helped-gaga-write-it/">Madonna said</a>, "I'm a really big fan of [<i>Born This Way</i>]. I'm glad that I helped Gaga write it."</P><P>The <a href="/news/articles/1686238/madonna-mdna-tour-kickoff.jhtml">tour launched</a> on May 31 in Tel Aviv, Israel's Ramat Gan Stadium in front of a sold-out crowd. Right from the kick-off, the show riled some critics, who decried Madonna's brandishing of (fake) firearms onstage in the war-torn country — all while making a plea for world peace. "You can't be a fan of mine and not want peace in the world," she said during the two-hour concert. "If we can all rise above our egos and our titles and the names of our countries and our religions, and treat everyone around us with dignity and respect, then we are on the road to peace. If there is peace here in the Middle East, there can be peace in the whole world."</P><P>The use of violent imagery in the show brought the pop diva even more bad press last week. Madonna <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/23/madonna-guns-concert-photos_n_1694766.html" target="_blank">ignored warnings</a> from local police in Edinburgh, Scotland, to not use the dummy weapons in her show because of the country's strict gun laws, which were put in place following the 1996 Dunblane school massacre that left 16 schoolchildren and one adult dead. She was not charged with violating Scotland's laws, however, the concert came just a day days after the shooting in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater that left 12 dead and another 59 injured, making her refusal to alter her show seem not only defiant of a foreign country's laws but also insensitive to the national conversation in her native United States.</P><P>Guns aren't the only thing Madonna's been showing off on her <i>MDNA</i> Tour: She's been baring her body as well. M caused a stir in mid-June when she <a href="/news/articles/1687008/madonna-breast-istanbul-concert.jhtml">flashed her breast</a> at the audience during a sold-out show at Turk Telekom Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. A few days later, she <a href="/news/articles/1687328/madonna-moons-rome-concert.jhtml">revealed her bare backside</a> at Rome's Stadio Olimpico.</P><P>Since then, revealing her body has practically become a recurring theme for the tour. What started as an in-the-moment surprise meant to titillate has since turned into a nearly every-show occurrence — all of which would be fine if there were a point to it.</P><P>Madonna has gotten a lot of flak throughout her career for being a provocateur, but her past behavior was always meant to advance an idea. Her aim was to get people talking about the things she felt were important, including LGBT rights, women's sexuality, religion and female empowerment. The point of the many controversies that have come out of her <i>MDNA</i> Tour seems to have more to do with keeping Madonna's name in the headlines than provoking thoughtful conversation. And people are on to her, calling her, among many other things, <a href="http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Hollywood/2012/06/12/madonna-desperation-time" target="_blank">"desperate for attention."</a></P><P>Even the one controversy that fits most firmly in the Madonna canon — her <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/07/16/madonna-paris-mdna-tour-lawsuit-politician-marine-le-pen/">feud with French right-wing National Front party leader Marine Le Pen</a> — has been taken so far to the extreme that it is swallowing her message. Throughout the tour, Madonna has shown a video interlude, set to her song "Nobody Knows Me," that features Le Pen with a swastika superimposed on her forehead.</P><P>On each of Madonna's last few tours, she has included a video montage similar to the one in which Le Pen appears. The difference is, she's never gone so far as to stamp a Nazi insignia on another politician's forehead. Le Pen is a perfect foe for Madonna — she is staunchly right-wing and opposes immigration and LGBT rights — and her are politics more than worth debating. But Madonna does nothing to advance the argument against Le Pen with hyperbole equating her to Adolf Hitler.</P><P>She also does nothing to combat ageism in the media and catty calls that she is less relevant than her younger peers by showing off her 53-year-old (still unbelievably fit) physique. She also fails to open a dialogue about gun control by waving a pistol during her <i>MDNA</i> revenge fantasy song "Gang Bang" and does nothing to help uncover the line between artistic inspiration and plagiarism with her attacks on Lady Gaga. Plus, Gaga has been vocal fan and natural ally who until earlier this summer did nothing but praise Madonna as the enormously influential artist she is.</P><P>Ultimately, Madonna is simply trying to shock us the way she always has. Dates pushed back due to singer Anthony Kiedis' foot injuries.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/red_hot_chili_peppers/artist.jhtml" target="_blank">Red Hot Chili Peppers</a> fans have waited this long to hear the band play songs from their Grammy-nominated latest release, <I>I'm With You</I>. And they're going to have to wait a bit longer. The band announced on Wednesday that it has been forced to reschedule the <a href="/news/articles/1674990/red-hot-chili-peppers-tour.jhtml">previously announced dates</a>
 for it's U.S. tour due to foot injuries suffered by singer Anthony Kiedis. According to a release announcing the new dates, Kiedis, 49, recently underwent surgery to remove a crushed sesamoid bone and correct a detached flexor tendon in his foot. 'She's got her confidence up. Once people give her a chance, I think people are really going to get her,' Cowell says of new judge.

<P>Simon Cowell is clearly feeling better — after missing <a href="/news/articles/1687133/x-factor-judges-performances-fighting.jhtml">"The X Factor" auditions in Kansas City, Missouri,</a> due to a bout of bronchitis — and he's talking <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>.</P><P>Cameramen from <a href="http://www.x17online.com/celebrities/simon_cowell/simon_cowell_says_britney_spears_not_unstable_claims_he_is_video_061412.php" target="_blank">X17</a> caught up with Cowell while he was riding in his town car in Beverly Hills, and they found the oft-testy reality-show judge and music executive to be in a particularly good mood. Cowell addressed a variety of tabloid rumors regarding Spears — namely that she's had some issues on set and that she's shaping up to be one of the tougher judges.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears Explains Why She Wanted To Be A Part Of 'X Factor'" id="vid:769620" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>When a cameraman asked whether "Britney's too unstable" to judge "X Factor," Cowell responded, "No, she's not unstable. I'm the one who's unstable! She's working out great. All these reports that we've fallen out are nonsense. She's doing a great job."</P><P>Cowell's car then pulls away, but again comes to a stop in traffic, allowing the paparazzi to continue his questioning. Asked whether Spears was his favorite judge, Cowell said, "There's only two girls," referring to Demi Lovato, and went on to jokingly admit that he is his own favorite of all time. "Yeah, I'd say Simon Cowell is a great guy," he quipped. "Very good looking."</P><P>Pressed further about Spears, Cowell offered more praise for the pop singer. "Like I said, she's been amazing. She's really taking time to learn how to do this," he continued. "She's got her confidence up. Once people give her a chance, I think people are really going to get her. It will be a big surprise. She's a tough judge."</P><P>As tough as the famously direct Cowell? "I'm a pussycat," he said playfully as his car pulled away.</P><P>We guess all that talk that <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20602881,00.html" target="_blank">Spears has been "incredibly tough"</a> on contestants might not be far from the truth. For her part, Spears responded to those rumors herself, taking to <a href="https://twitter.com/britneyspears/status/212289663422042112" target="_blank">Twitter</a> to say, "It's all tough love ... <P>As promised, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> and her boys Lil Wayne, T.I., Wiz Khalifa and Andre 3000 dropped a new <a href="/news/articles/1672529/lil-wayne-kesha-ti-wiz-khalifa-remix.jhtml">remix of "Sleazy"</a> on Tuesday (December 13).</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="MTV News Extended Play: Ke$ha" id="id:1661961" width="240" height="211"></div><p></P><P>The Bangladesh-produced song originally appeared on K-Dollar's 2010 <a href="/news/articles/1651081/keha-gets-sleazy-on-new-cannibal-track.jhtml"><i>Cannibal</i> album</a> before a <a href="/news/articles/1656039/andre-3000-pops-up-on-kehas-sleazy-remix.jhtml">remix featuring Andre</a> popped up earlier this year. The latest version of the song is available for purchase and is all over blogs like <a href="http://www.rap-up.com/2011/12/12/new-music-kesha-f-wiz-khalifa-andre-3000-ti-lil-wayne-sleazy-remix/" target="_blank">Rap-Up.com</a>. The song gets a bit dirtier and introspective thanks to verses from the guys that play up the track's bumping beat.</P><P>Wiz kicks it off, rapping about designer clothes and his lady love, Amber Rose. "OK, I'm young and I'm tatted/ I get them bucks like an addict/ Rocking this Christian Dior/ I spend so much on my fabric/ I got a wifey at home/ And what she wants she can have it," he spits before going on about chilling on the beach, being rich and his prowess in the bedroom.</P><P>Sitting in between Wiz and Tip is Andre's recycled verse, before T.I. gets his shot and gets sexy, asking Ke$ha, "Do you know what to do with me?" before he launches into a verse all about how good he is to the ladies. "Bad bitches know me/ So don't bother introducing me/ They want me more than diamonds," he brags before explaining that it has a lot to do with his impressive anatomy.</P><P>Wayne closes it out, adding his own signature flair. "We be on that sh-- that no one be on/ That's what we on/ Smoke that neon, Kings of Leon/ Dynamite, Napoleon/ Got some skinnies and a tee on/ And some Vans," he rhymes about his famous sense of Weezy-fied style before the song circles back to the funky chorus, where Ke$ha declares that she doesn't "need you or your brand-new Benz/ Or your bougie friends/ I don't need love lookin' like diamonds/ Lookin' like diamonds."</P><P>If any of K's fans or critics were wondering if she has the swagger to chill with the guys, she displayed some of her sass when she <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/KESHASUXX" target="_blank">tweeted</a> about the remix. "Question ANIMALS ... who can say they got with Lil Wayne, T.I., Andre 3000 and Wiz Khalifa on a f---ing hot track??" she asked. "ill give u one clue ...
